Canine Behaviour Veterinary Referrals

Do you need to refer on a canine client for behaviour support/treatment?

Canine Behaviour Veterinary Referrals with Daniels Dogs
In line with both ABPC and FABC Codes of Practice I only take on behaviour cases that have been referred by the client’s Veterinary Surgeon.

Clients may ask you for a referral if they have already spoken to me, or you may want to refer a case on to me that you feel needs a Clinical Animal Behaviourist’s input.

As you know pain and/or other medical problems are a major cause of behavioural problems in dogs, and therefore it is best practice that vets and behaviourists work closely together.

The ABTC (Animal Behaviour and Training Council) is working hard to get the regulation needed for the companion animal training and behaviour industry, and following rigorous assessment and accreditation, currently recognises the APBC and FABC as the professional bodies representing Clinical Animal Behaviourists.
